NABELLIAN ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Liquid New Tab browser extension. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring a secure browsing experience. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use our extension.
2. Information Collection and Storage
Liquid New Tab is designed with a Privacy-First architecture. Most information provided by the user is
stored locally on the user's device via the chrome.storage.local API.
The following types of data are processed and stored locally:
- Location Data: User-specified city names for fetching real-time weather forecasts via the Open-Meteo API.
- Authentication Information: API keys for AI services (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini) to enable integrated dashboard functionalities.
- User Activity: Custom nicknames, profile photo URLs, and a curated list of quick-access shortcut links.
In addition, when you activate the Pro version and use the cloud synchronization feature, the following data is securely transmitted and stored in the cloud via Google Firebase (Firestore):
- License and Device Information: License key and device identifier (Device ID) for license activation and verification of device count limit.
- User Setting Synchronization: Setting data (nickname, profile photo URL, shortcut links, and widget settings) to share settings across multiple devices.
- Credit Information: AI credit balance and redeem code usage history.
3. Third-Party Payment Processing
For users who choose to upgrade to Pro versions or purchase AI Credits, we use Lemon Squeezy as our third-party payment processor and Merchant of Record.
When you make a purchase, Lemon Squeezy collects certain personal data, including your email address, country, and zip code, to process the payment and comply with tax regulations. Lemon Squeezy handles all customer service inquiries and returns related to payments. We do not store or have access to your full credit card or payment information.

4. Use of Permissions
To fulfill its purpose as a minimalist and fluid start page, Liquid New Tab requires specific Chrome permissions:

We strictly adhere to the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies.
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell user data to third parties.
- No Tracking: We do not use user data for tracking, advertising, or creditworthiness assessments.
- Security: All locally stored data is protected by the browser's sandbox environment.
